Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh's John Hope Gateway building
The original illustrated map for the garden was painted in the 1980s, the illustrator is now retired. I was asked to illustrate the new substantial addition to the garden of the John Hope Gateway building, keeping it the same style as the original map. I did this by drawing it up in Illustrator at the same aerial view, then blending it into the original style in Photoshop once placed over the original artwork file. This is just one of the many additional buildings, sculptures, path updates and planting areas illustrated over the full map as new additions were built and altered.

The illustration shows the grand gallery of the museum from the second floor,. It gives a good view of the scale of the gallery and the bright open space it is. It was part of a mindfulness trail, showing relaxing spaces.
